As the off season approaches and trading is now officially open, The Atlanta Falcons have stormed out of the gates early and have made a huge splash in some franchise altering moves. As GM Ryan was pondering and searching for options for what to do with the franchise, he has made an exclamation point in the beginning of the off season and put Legendary on notice. The first move (probably the biggest move so far this off season), was acquiring the first overall pick in this year's NFL draft. It took some hard negotiations between the Dolphins and the Falcons, but it got done. The Falcons, having originally being awarded 6th overall, shipped the 6th pick, and the 6th pick in rounds 2 and 3, and a 4th round pick at the 5th spot to the Dolphins in exchange for 1st, 2nd round selection, and 2 4th round picks. This will undoubtedly put the Falcons in the best position to draft their future franchise quarterback. Whether that may be USC quarterback Caleb Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye or LSU's Jayden Daniels, Atlanta will have their best quarterback option since Matt Ryan. It is widely expected that the Falcons will take Caleb Williams, according to several draft experts, but they will do their homework on all 3 before making a final decision. Falcon fans are literally jumping with excitement at the possibility of having any of the big 3 QBs. The excitement didn't stop there! Not even a day after the monumental trade, The Falcons acquired one of the games best and young linebackers in Patrick Queen. An ultimate game changer, Queen will bring energy and fear into opposing offenses as the Falcons continue to shape the team. The Falcons sent the Saints one of their 1st round selections (21) and a 2nd next year to the Saints in order to bring him onboard. Not only that, but Queen comes in with an extension that will keep him in Atlanta for years to come! This is really exciting times and GM Ryan should be given a standing ovation for the way he has changed the outlook of this team. With these moves and more than $100 million in cap to spend, this team is prepared to load up on both sides of the ball!
